A forum on the subject of film copyright protection in the organization of UFUS AFA PROTECTION, with T-S Legal attorney Stevan Pajović, who is the organization’s legal representative as one of the speakers, was held last night in Belgrade as part of the 71st March Festival (“Martovski festival”).

In his presentation, Stevan Pajović reminded the audience that in the past authors used to sign agreements with producers, thereby waving their rights, even those concerning the rebroadcast of their works, since majority of authors believed for those rights to be vested.

The forum speakers also included the organization’s director Stefan Galineo, as well as film director Miloš Škundrić. Gelineo pointed out the amazing achievements of UFUS AFA PROTECTION in educating authors on keeping the rebroadcast rights, based on which royalties are paid out, for themselves. Škundrić mentioned that the Law on Copyright and Related rights, which was detrimental for film authors, was stopped at the end of last year thanks to this organization’s efforts.

The necessity of expanding the domain of copyrights to streaming platform YouTube and other internet services for the sake of a better position of film authors was highlighted as the conclusion of the forum and a future goal of UFUS AFA PROTECTION.

With its participation and engagement in these types of events, T-S Legal advocates for the advancement of legal framework for copyright protection and artists’ rights in the audio-visual industry of this digital age.
