Belgrade, October 30, 2023 – The T-S Legal law firm took part in the First Regional Conference on Copyright in Audiovisual Arts of Central and Eastern Europe, which took place on October 26 and 27 in Belgrade. This significant conference was organised in collaboration with renowned European associations such as SAA, AIPA, ZAPA, and UFUS AFA ZAŠTITOM, which hosted the event. The conference addressed key challenges in copyright protection in the audiovisual sector.
The conference brought together representatives from ten European countries who discussed the implementation of copyright directives from 2019 in the Central and Eastern European region. During the discussions, particular emphasis was placed on the need to introduce domestic legislation regarding fair compensation rights for audiovisual authors, even when they exclusively assign all rights to their works to the producer.
Prominent speakers at the conference included Barbara Hejz, the Director of SAA, Vladimir Marić, the Director of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia, and Stefan Gelineo, the Director of UFUS AFA ZAŠTITA. Mr. Gelineo highlighted UFUS AFA ZAŠTITA’s significant achievements in establishing a copyright protection system for film authors and efficient royalty collection, all achieved within the organization’s relatively short existence.
Conference participants also included Srđan Dragojević, the President of the Supervisory Board of UFUS AFA ZAŠTITA, as well as Stevan Pajović, a partner at T-S Legal, who serves as the chief legal representative of UFUS AFA ZAŠTITA.
